Claude Motion can mean several different things. That matters when a tutorial asks you to install a package, a subscription page promises access, or a demo shows an impressive result. This guide separates the products and explains the common idea: an AI assistant can write an editable animation project, then a renderer turns that project into video.
Claude Motion Skills on this website
Claude Motion Skills is this independently operated website and its companion workflow for your own coding agent. The site offers original compositions, editable storyboards, source downloads, and local MP4 rendering through HyperFrames. It is not an Anthropic product. Think of the website as a place to organize a story and visual direction; your downloaded project is the working material you can continue editing. Compatibility with Claude Code does not imply a shared subscription or affiliation.
Anthropic’s official Motion feature
Anthropic also uses Claude Motion for a feature within Claude’s Artifacts experience. Its current help guide describes a Team and Enterprise beta that creates short animations from prompts and exports MP4. Availability depends on the organization’s plan and settings. If your goal is to work inside Claude, start with that official guide. Installing this website’s CLI does not enable an organization feature in Claude, and a subscription here is a separate purchase.
The whaleyxbt open-source toolkit
The GitHub repository whaleyxbt/claude-motion is another independent project. It adds motion-design guidance, frame review, and sound tooling around a Remotion workflow, with an additional web-simulation pipeline. Its examples belong to its author. A command copied from that repository sets up that toolkit, not this website’s HyperFrames project. Before following any tutorial, compare its repository address and expected files with the tool you actually intend to use.
The separate claudemotion.design website
The domain claudemotion.design is a third-party site with its own product presentation and installation instructions. Similar wording or visual conventions do not make it the same service as Claude Motion Skills at claudemontiondesignskills.org. Bookmark the exact address you chose and check the package name before installation. This small habit prevents a common support problem: trying to apply one service’s account, commands, or documentation to a different product with a similar name.
What the workflows have in common
The useful distinction is between writing an animation and generating a shot of footage. In a code-based workflow, text, shapes, positions, and timing remain represented in editable source. You can request a shorter headline or a longer reading pause and then render again. HyperFrames supplies the HTML-to-video foundation for this site. A good result still requires a clear message, approved assets, readable typography, and review of the exported file; the name of the assistant cannot supply those decisions for you.
Choose by the artifact you need
Start with the deliverable: an internal explainer, a source project your team will maintain, or a short social clip. Then identify where editing should happen and who will own the files. For a first trial, use one sentence, three scenes, and a single visual style. Check whether you can change a number without disturbing the layout and reopen the source afterward. These checks reveal more about workflow fit than a polished demonstration with unknown preparation behind it.
Your next step
Identify the exact product first. Then evaluate its editable source, rendering path, and account requirements against one small, real project.
